Finally time to make rough drafts for the book! I recorded down some ideas of mine by making tiny prototypes first!

Type 1!

The cover was die cut into to parts; top and bottom. It's meant to reveal the patterns in the book together.

Like this, different patterns can be matched to create a different pieces.

Type 2!

The cover opens vertically with triangular pages which flip open horizonatally. The edges of the page plays a part in the mark-making too.

Type 3!

Doesn't look obvious here, but it's actually sheets of die cut paper in a transparent plastic wrapper.

The papers inside can be removed or reararranged to reveal different marks and patterns.

Type 4!

This one is a simpler concept. It looks like a normal simple book, but it opens up to reveal something else.

There's only one big page which can fold open and close again.

The remaining types are just try-outs for different types of stitches I find useful or plan to use.

Stab binding Tortoise shell binding

Single sheet binding

Stitching was unexpectedly fun, especially when seeing the finishing product. I gained some new knowledge from this as well.
